hi all

I have a debt with VM that is over 6years old. I did have a default on my credit report but it's no longer there . What happened is when I placed a order online last week I got a phone message to call them its was over this debt saying that I still owe them money from 2004. I haven't in this time had any letters over this debt or calls etc so until I pay the old debt I can't place a new order. I did say to them that I didn't owe this debt do you think I should just pay it ?? it was for something like £135.78 any help or advice appreciated

thanks
ste

The debt may well be statute barred which means that a court cannot take any form of legal action against you. However, I you ran a company and found that person still owed you money would you trade with them? If you definitely owe the money then I think you should clear your debt with VM if you want to use them. If you don't want to clear the debt or you are positive that you don't owe them anything then you'll have to go somewhere else.
