I believe Hillesden are a collection agency and i do not owe them any money. I owed Barclays some money in 2000 and i think they may have sold the debt to Hillesden. I have been ignoring all the letters from Hillesden and any other debt collectors and returning them back with no response. I have now had a letter advising that a CCJ has been issued and will remain on my credit for 6 years unless i settle withing a month. I then checked my credit file and lo and behold, a CCJ dated 20/01/2010 has been put on my file. My question is this: Is it still possible to contact the court explaining that the debt is over 6 years old thus statute barred. I have always ignored their mail and never agreed that i owed the debt. Will the court still be ready to consider this? Please advice Thanks Josie |

This being the case then, if the debt was not been acknowledge since 2000 then it is indeed statute barred. This means that you cannot be pursue in court for this debt. In respect of seeking a redetermination of the CCJ the you should read this. Please bear in mind that the action must be taken within 14 days so get your skates on! Did you receive anything in the post from the court about the CCJ? P |
