Joined: 11 Jan 2012 Posts: 1 | I have moved from Australia to UK on a working visa however plan to stay on in the UK indefinitely. Until now, I have made monthly payments on Australian debts (approx AUD20K) but am no longer in a position to afford them. These are long standing debts that I have been paying for years - I've paid what I borrowed but still working through the interest. I understand making repayments because I borrowed the money but it's not a financial option anymore. Has anyone been through this or have any advice? Someone told me I'd be nabbed at the airport next visit to Oz and not be allowed to leave the country. Thanks! |
