As I'm new to all this but long story short I got myself in a lot of debt before July 2006 and as i stay in Scotland I thought it was all statute barred after 5 years as I have not signed anything , written too or made contact with any debtors, simply because I was and still am unemployed and just simply can't afford to pay. I am classed as disabled and I am waiting on 2 operations. My problem is a chap who I let into my home from a company called Robinson Way sat down and told me I owed a bank money which I can't remember I never signed nothing and did not acknowledge the debt and he advised that I should contact CAB or guys like yourself. What would be my next step should I contact them and quote Prescription and Limitation (Scotland) Act 1973 or let them contact me again. I am concerned that my benefits could get arrested. any help would be much appreciated. |
