Joined: 08 Feb 2010 Posts: 2 | I have various debts with various creditors dating back to around 2001/2, which i stopped paying when i split up with my ex in 2004. Most of the creditors have had no correspondense from me since around 2005. I have had a letter today (1st one for probably a year) threatening to send someone round my house. I have moved house since the credit was taken out. I am aware that after 6 years of no correspondonce the creditors cannot persue the debt but does correspondense include someone phoning to say i no longer live at this address and have not done for some time? Also can the creditors searching for me trace my address through my credit report as i want to obtain one to see what is still on there but i dont want to do it if i'm going to open a whole can of worms for myself. I have a new life now, i have a baby and am getting married in a few months so i just need the worry of this out of the way before the wedding! Also can the creditors still trace me once im married and changed my name? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! |

This happened about 4 fours ago, when I stopped paying my repayments as I had nothing. I havent responded to their letters, just moved from house to house - on the run. I have only recieved two letters lately. But again I have moved house. Can the baliffs come if they find where I live? Can I go to jail? What can they do?, they have threatened bankrupty before, I own nothing. I dont know what to do . I have moved to another address, and my exlandlord has advided them i live here - what should I do. I am not interested in borrowing any money again, and i dont think i will be able to repay this debt - but i dont want to go bankrupt due to the public embarrassment. I know i was stupid, but i didnt feel like i had a choice please any advise would be great. |
