Joined: 27 Nov 2009 Posts: 1 | Can someone please tell me what to do........Struggling as we all are at the moment, I decided to become an Avon representative to earn a bit of extra money for Xmas. I have collected in all my orders which come to about £400.....Then yesterday I received a letter from Avon saying they are unable to set me up an account as I have an outstanding bill with them from 2003!! They want me to pay them £124 today (today is the cut off date for Xmas orders to go in) or it has all been in vain. Two questions spring to mind - if I do owe this money (which I am almost certain that I do not), why is this the first I've heard of it and can they pursue it after all this time? Also what do I do about the orders that I have and the customers that are expecting their Xmas presents to turn up? |

That matter aside, Avon won't do business with you unless, they realise they've made mistake or you negotiate a deal with them. Phone Avon, points to cover are -why has it taken so long for them to contact you? -do they have proof of the outstanding amount? -if more than 6 years old tell them they can't take you to court? -your contract with them as a rep, if you have fulfilled your side of the deal, ie collected orders then it is their responsibility to deliver the orders. Unless Avon come realise they've made a mistake then I think you don't really have many options. Because I bet you the minute you submit the order they'll keep your commission and if you don't submit the order you'll lose commission - Catch 22. Don't worry too much about the customers. If they really want the Avon stuff then they can order it online and get it in time for Christmas. |
