Ive just recieved a letter from the DWP saying i owe them £507. Doesnt say what for but after much thought i'm thinking maybe its from a loan or something when i was unemployed. Now ive been self employed for a little over twelve years so im not sure where i stand, i would have thought the term statued barred would be the word floating round most peoples head at this point so i just wanted to make sure i do things right. After i became self employed i moved out of my flat and im wondering if this has any effect on a time barred action from their side simply because they'll say they've had to trace me. Although one click search on my national insurance number would have given them an address. Im going to phone them this morning, play dumb and ask them to send any proof of what this about. The letter makes out they've contacted me before but this is the first one i've seen plus it was supposed to be paid by 29/12/11 but i was away over christmas, not that i would have paid anyway. Any help on this matter would be of great value Thank you |

I've not admitted to having any memory of these loans and further more asked them to post me proof of these loans and any signed agreements. They say they will do and also that as it is connected to a government loan there is no time limit on when they can come looking to get the money back. They were quite pleasant though so can't grumble there. Any info would be great Thanks |
