hi all

I am new to this forum. Here is my story in short. I now live abroad and moved in 2006. I sold my house and paid off a secured loan and some smaller debts. I did I am sorry to say leave some outstanding debts back in the Uk. These probably come to around 14k. I had no way of paying them and had struggled on to pay just the minimum payments. I saw a chance to start again and I took it. That is not to say that I do not worry every day about the outcome. Lately my mother who is 79 and not well has been getting some calls from financial services. I know that it is probably about my debts. I need to know if it is too late to contact these companies and TRY to come to some arrangements, or do I just hope that they will not come to find me. I suppose I am afraid they will try to make me pay what I do not have. I am trying to start a new life and I really cannot go back to the life I had. I expect no sympathy, but I am sure that I am not the only one who has done this. Any advice welcome and thanks.

Hi dramaqueen nice name.

What is your current financial position? You cannot ignore these debts and hope that they will just go away. Your creditors are quite resourceful and they will track you down. Some countries have a reciprocal arrangement for dealing with debtors so my advice would be to contact the creditors and try and establish some form of communication.

It is clear that you are not happy ignoring your debts as you have said that it has been worrying you every day. Your new start doesn't seem to be doing the trick as your old start is still casting its shadows. DO as I have suggested, contact the creditors, do an SOA (we can help) post back on the forum and restart your new start.

regards

P

hi Paladin

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I will in the next few days, write down my debts, and take the bull by the horns and contact them The thought of doing it turns my stomach, but it will have to be done. I suppose I am afraid of them asking for money that I dont have. I will keep in touch, and thanks again. Guess I am drama queen by name and drama queen by nature.

HI Help me now

Thanks for those few kind works, sometimes you feel as though you are a leper and no one has the same problems. Though sometimes I think a lot of people are the same and they just wont admit it. I am going to write a list of creditors in the next 2 days, and contact them.

Thanks again I will keep posting.
