"I live in Scotland and like most people I do owe money. Most things from Student Loans to Credit Cards. I am finding it incredibly difficult to meet my obligations and have looked at waysout......but all seem simply to rip off the debtor. Debt Management Plans are looking for 2 or even 3 months contributions as a "fee"......plus a healthy monthly % of my payments. In my case that isa fee in excess of £900. Another company suggested a Trust Deed, but failed to say that I could lose my house. I do have over £30,000 equity but have no chance of re-mortgaging any time soon. I also noted that fees are chargeable from my contributions. These amounted to thousands. Again this hardly seems fair. Bankruptcy takes my house as well and I cannot look at an IVA.......where does someone like me turn?"
