Joined: 18 Aug 2009 Posts: 3 | Hi Thinking of DMP. Would take me 10 yrs with CCCS to pay off debts, but how long does the arrangement actually stay on your credit file? Am I right in thinking, any credit account stays on your file for a maximum of 6 years, and if so, does that mean 6 years from account being opened, or 6 years from when the account is actually 'settled' Sorry if havent made myself clear here, I know what i want to say, but don't think im saying it clearly.. Thanks |

Joined: 01 May 2007 Posts: 494 My Profile | A debt management plan is a re-negotiation of your current arrangements, which means if you are on a DMP, provided you keep up with your payments should have only a small effect on your credit score. The formal actions against you eg CCJ's etc will drop off your credit history 6 years after the date it was first registered. George |
