Hi
Thinking of DMP. Would take me 10 yrs with CCCS to pay off debts, but how long does the arrangement actually stay on your credit file?
Am I right in thinking, any credit account stays on your file for a maximum of 6 years, and if so, does that mean 6 years from account being opened, or 6 years from when the account is actually 'settled'
Sorry if havent made myself clear here, I know what i want to say, but don't think im saying it clearly..

Thanks

A debt management plan is a re-negotiation of your current arrangements, which means if you are on a DMP, provided you keep up with your payments should have only a small effect on your credit score.

The formal actions against you eg CCJ's etc will drop off your credit history 6 years after the date it was first registered.

i also have similar question. What is the timeline of an inactive account? And if something is still in the account is it as good as i lost?
