So far, 3 of the 4 have accepted my offers of payment. I sent a letter 3 weeks ago to the collections department at Alliance and Leicester, to which I had no reply. So I contacted them and ended up speaking with some useless and impatient call centre workers in Scotland who work for Abbey. They said I sent my letter to the wrong address etc, and although they try to transfer post across, sometimes things "just get lost"! So on Friday I sent another letter, which they still claim to have not received, even though I sent it to the right address. I made a payment over the phone for the amount which I have said I would, and the useless person at the other end of the phone said when your account goes into arrears this month, they will contact you to discuss an arrangement. So I said to her, who actually deals with these arrangements, and can I speak to them, to which she replied, it's another department and they will contact me. Does anyone else have a similar experience of Abbey etc? Should I send them another letter etc by Special Delivery so I know they have it? I'm just worried that they are just doing nothing, and they will start slapping my account with default charges. You can probably understand my worries and frustrations, any advice? |

Although you will be in default as you are trying to renegotiate your original deal, your actions should stem the financial penalties. |
