can you please help me , i was in a protected trust deed and then i was made redundent (only in this job for less than a year so no redundancy money) and when i was unemployed i ran out of job seekers allowance just before christmas then just before i was forced into bankruptcy i recieved some money from an accident i had at my old work so being near christmas i spent it on my kids and partner and some for myself but now my trustee wants to know where the money went and she wants reciepts which i dont have now i have a job (part time) so iam LILA and she still wants money off of me what can i do this is really getting me down

Yes you shouldn't have spent that extra cash. I know it was a difficult decision, " Do I spend my windfall on my family or do I pay back the creditors?" You obviously ignored your creditors and really that is a big no no.

That said how much money are we taking about. Being an accident at work I would reckon it would be in the region of £2-5k. It would take at least this for the Trustee to try and recover this back from you. If you don't have any form of assets then it this makes it even more difficult.

So the simple answer to your question is there is not much they can do, you should have put the money in the pot for the creditors but you didn't.
